Zushi Residence

Where Time Meets the Edge of the Sea

A place set slightly apart from the pace of the city, Zushi Residence is designed around the atmosphere of the coast and the subtle shifts of light, air, and time.

Morning light moves across the garden and into the interior. Linen curtains respond gently to the sea breeze, while distant birdsong and changing shadows gradually reshape the atmosphere throughout the day. The sea itself is never fully visible, yet its presence settles softly into the air, the fading light, and the coolness that arrives toward evening.

At the center of the living area, a fireplace creates a quiet point of focus. Hand-blown glass pendant lights reveal different layers of transparency and reflection as the light changes, while a circular dining table and curved sofas encourage gathering, conversation, and a slower pace of living.

Natural materials, soft textures, and carefully composed details create an environment that feels calm, warm, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Rather than emphasizing spectacle, the residence is shaped around the quieter qualities of coastal living — the movement of light, the atmosphere of the air, and the slower rhythm that emerges with distance from the city.

What remains is a quieter sense of time, shaped by the air, the light, and the subtle presence of the sea.
