Karuizawa Prince Hotel
TOHRI Chinese Restaurant
The Land of Karuizawa
Inspired by the volcanic landscape and rich natural environment of Karuizawa, the restaurant was conceived as a dining experience deeply connected to the character of the region.
Rather than recreating local scenery literally, the design interprets the strength of the land, native flora, and cultural craftsmanship through a contemporary hospitality lens. Natural stone, delicate lattice compositions, and handcrafted artwork create subtle layers of texture and atmosphere that unfold throughout the dining experience.
More than a place to dine, the restaurant offers an encounter with Karuizawa through food, materiality, and atmosphere. Blending the depth of Chinese cuisine with the distinct identity of the region, it creates a dining experience rooted in both place and culture.
